It is run by the minister competent for the economy in an IT system, and the entry and every application are free of charge. Through CEIDG a business is registered, changed, suspended and closed, and counterparties are also checked.

Who is covered by CEIDG and who by KRS

In Poland two main business registers operate. CEIDG covers natural persons running business activity. Commercial companies — limited liability (sp. z o.o.), joint-stock, general and limited — are entered in KRS (National Court Register), which is kept by the courts. A civil-law partnership is not separately registered in CEIDG: each of its partners is entered as an entrepreneur.

Feature

CEIDG

KRS

Who is entered

entrepreneurs who are natural persons

commercial companies, foundations, associations

Who runs it

the minister competent for the economy

registry courts

Fee for an application

none

court fee, e.g. PLN 250 for amending an entry

Channel

biznes.gov.pl or commune office

Court Registers Portal

What data the entry contains

The Act lists a catalogue of registration data.
